Waterberry Zambezi Lodge

Livingstone

An informal, secluded, little riverside lodge with views over the river to the Zambezi National Park on the opposite bank. Waterberry is famous for friendly welcoming staff, wonderful food, glorious gardens and its tranquil riverside setting.

A small tented area has been added in the woodlands to the east of the dam.  This secluded site is very good for birdwatching, impala and bushbuck from the conservation area graze here, and hippos come onto the lawns at night.  The site is about 200m from the main lodge and the tents are gathered around a small lounge area and an outside firepit.

Because you can’t come to Zambia without visiting the astonishing Victoria Falls, Waterberry is a perfect start or finish to a trip to wonderful Zambia (or from which to visit neighbouring Botswana, Zimbabwe and Namibia).

In 2009 Waterberry founded Tukongote Community Projects to improve the educational opportunities in nearby villages. We began with one preschool class in a traditional mud and stick building, and now support over 400 children in 3 purpose-built preschools and 1 primary school.  In 2019 Waterberry Community Projects Limited, supporting Tukongote, became a Registered Charity in the UK. For more information on this project please visit this link https://www.waterberrylodge.com/community

The lodge has a small and private conservation area of around 100 acres which has been  fenced it off to protect the area. Plans going forward are to make it better for birding, and protect the wildlife that is there – mainly bushbuck and civet.
