Designed by Neil Rocher this impressive private house sits gracefully on the edge of a lagoon system frequented by large herds of elephants, impalas, giraffes and countless other species which use the lagoon as a source of water and food throughout the year.
During your stay at Luangwa House you will be looked after by a team dedicated solely to you. Your private guide who will tailor each and every activity around your personal preferences and requirements, whilst the chef and house manager will ensure that everything is as you want it for when you are back in the house

Located on private land outside of the Park, overlooking a lagoon. About 40 Minutes road transfer from Mfuwe Airport.
Access into Mfuwe Airport is either via scheduled flight from Lusaka on Proflight, direct flight from Jeki or Royal during the peak season or via scheduled flight on Ulendo Air from Lilongwe. Charter flights can also be organised.

Evening Breeze air conditioning units have been installed in all rooms. It is designed to cool the air within your mosquito net and not the entire room.

Upon entering through the huge pivoting door you are welcomed by a large airy main area, the front of which is completely open affording incredible views of the landscape and countless animals as they stroll past the house. This room, the ceiling of which reaches up to twelve meters in height, is dominated by enticing sofas, two floating staircases on either side leading to the upstairs bedrooms and a large wrought iron and marble dining table. The open front of the main area leads on to a tiled terrace with a refreshing plunge pool on one side and a decked walkway through the ebony trees on the other. There is also a viewing hide on site.
The House comes with its own private house staff, chef and guide and is ideal for families and friends groups wanting a totally private and intimate experience
Daily morning and afternoon walking safaris or game drives, cultural/village tour, visit to Chimpembele, visit local market and Tribal Textiles. All activities are privately guided.
Children aged 7 years and older are welcome at Luangwa Safari House (the house is very open and is therefore not ideal for younger children).
There is lots on offer to keep kids busy and happy - both whilst out on Safari and back at the house.

The House is run on mains electricity with a backup generator.
There is no WiFi but there is cellular reception
Additionally, all water is from a well but is safe for drinking; bottled water is also provided at the house free of charge.
