Nkonzi Camp is owner run by Gavin Opie who opened the camp in 2015 after having run private safaris in South Luangwa for the prior 8 years. Located inside South Luangwa National Park in an exclusive wilderness area north of the central Mfuwe region. Nkonzi Camp is set among grassy plains and ancient forests in an area north of the central Mfuwe region. To the north, the Luwi River attracts a vast array of wildlife throughout the year. The main gate is a 45 minute drive and Mfuwe Airport one hour 30 minutes.
Access into Mfuwe Airport is either via scheduled flight from Lusaka on Proflight, direct flight from Jeki or Royal during the peak season or via scheduled flight on Ulendo Air from Lilongwe. Charter flights can also be organised.

Ensuite open air bathrooms with hot water bucket showers and flushing toilets
At the centre of camp stands their atmospheric Swahili Meru tent. Home to comfy sofas, a candle-lit dining area and a small bush-bar, this is the perfect place to relax and soak in the safari experience. Most meals are served under the open skies and the campfire is the meeting place every morning and evening before and after activities.
Game Drives, All Day Drives and Walking Safaris.
Walking safaris often begin and end at camp, while game drives can head north, south, east or west into untouched wildlife habitats. On full day drives you will have the chance to visit some very remote areas of the South Luangwa National Park where you will only have Zambia’s incredible animal and bird life for company.
Children aged 12 years and older are welcome at Nkonzi Camp
There are no family tents and the tents are not large enough for an extra bed
Nkonzi is a seasonal bushcamp operating 1st June to 31st October
$5 per bednight is donated to Chipembele Education Centre
$5 per bednight is donated to Conservation South Luangwa
The Camp is run on solar power
There is no WIFI at the camp
